This section holds the highest public importance and is backbone of the Corporation. This is the only section of MCB which attends/redresses complaints of general public throughout 24 hrs (i.e. 24 x 7) to provide clean, hygienic and pollution free environment to the general public.

• The area of Municipal Corporation Bathinda is divided into 8 zones.
• The Chief Sanitary Inspector inspects whole area of Bathinda Municipal Corporation. Each sanitary inspector/sanitary supervisor is the in-charge of his area under him.
• With 46 Mini Tippers , house to house and street to street garbage collected and transported to the dumping point of MSW Plant situated at Mansa Road Bathinda.
• The Municipal Corporation, Bathinda has fogging machines.
• During summer season for the control of mosquitoes and other diseases producing vectors, fogging machine is operated. A Mix 20 litre of diesel with 1 L of melathin technical 95% then fog of very thick density is produced. It kills the mosquitoes and other disease producing vectors. It sucks the dust on roadsides.
• Sanitary officers also visit various hotels, restaurants, meat shops and Dhabas regarding sanitations. Their Kitchens are inspected and insanitary kitchens are challaned as per rules.
• There are total 885 safai sewaks doing sweeping on roads, cleaning drains and collecting garbage from roads regularly.
• The Municipal Corporation Bathinda has a slaughter house where the animal whose meat is supplied to the city shops is slaughtered after checking.
• If any meat shop sells meat not passed by the slaughter house, that meat is destroyed and the seller is challaned.
Functions and duties
• Daily cleaning of streets/roads and removal of rubbish/filth etc.
• Placement of containers, dustbins.
• Lifting of dead animals and their disposal.
• Collection of user charges on account of sanitation.
• Thermal Fogging was done in the month of Mid of April to Nov. in collaboration with Health Department within the limits of Municipal Corporation Bathinda on the basis of report submitted by Health Department regarding rise in density of vector species of mosquitoes.
• Door to Door garbage collection scheme is going on in all the wards through tippers introduced in all wards for door to door garbage collection.

1. Garbage Collection
Municipal Corporation provides a daily garbage collection service. Source Segregated Garbage is collected from all residential, non-residential properties through our 46 Mini Tippers. Bathinda City has been divided into 8 Zones. The Zone wise Door to Door Collection.

2. Sweeping of streets
It is a service for which a wide variety of tools, equipment and methods, both manual and mechanical, are available. Sanitary Workers of MC Bathinda sweep residential areas and commercial areas on daily basis. Night Sweeping is also practiced on Major commercial areas.
Thus street cleansing policies should have the following objectives:
the provision of services for the collection of wastes from source, i.e., efficient refuse collection,
reduction of street litter by public education and awareness,
the use of systems which achieve high labour productivity,
The design and use of effective tools and equipment.

PT is a room or small building with toilets (or urinals) that does not belong to a particular household. Rather, the toilet is available for use by the general public, customers, travellers, employees of a business, school pupils etc

5. Fogging
Fogging operations are part of our Swachh Bharat Mission plan. Fogging missions are scheduled on a case by case basis after evaluating a number of factors that include disease presence, mosquito population density, and special human population considerations.
Fogging occurs if disease is present or a high number of mosquitoes are found in a specific area.
• Mosquito fogging takes place between dusk and dawn.
• Fogging cannot be done if it is raining, if wind speeds exceed 10 miles per hour or if evening temperatures are below 65 degrees.
• If fogging activities are cancelled due to weather conditions, they will be rescheduled for the next available weekday evening.
During fogging operations PLEASE:
• Keep children away from the fogging vehicle.
• Park your vehicle off the street when possible.
• Do not tailgate or follow the fogging vehicles.
• Do not stop the fogging truck while it is fogging.
• Go inside and remain indoors while the fogging vehicle is in the neighbourhood.
6. Clean Up Campaigns
These are normally organized by the corporation with the collaboration of civil organizations, the general public, ministries and other stake holders where black spots identified in a specific region are cleaned and embellished.
Sanitation Campaigns are affected at regular intervals throughout the whole year where sensitization campaigns are carried out in the community to avoid illegal dumping. The citizens are given the opportunity to remove all their bulky wastes. Corporation Machinery and manpower are provided for proper collection and disposal of same.
7. Complaints Redressal
MC Bathinda is receiving complaints from citizens and the general public from online redressal form @ MCB Website , Swachhata MoHUA Mobile App ,mSewa Mobile App and (Toll Free no: 18001802626 )
The online system for payment of user charges will be started soon for convenience of general public. Once this payment gateway is created, it will be a major source of revenue for MCB.
• The Sanitation Department has installed GPS System on the garbage carrying Vehicles that notifies the office at the end of the day .A special Team for Monitoring these vehicles have been deputed by Corporation Bathinda . This GPS allows Sanitation to pick up garbage in a more efficient and timely manner. Due to the fact that Sanitation no longer has to go down. It is much faster progress in keeping Bathinda clean.
