Mahatma Gandhi Said "Sanitation is more important than independence". He made cleanliness and sanitation an integral part of the Gandhian way of living. His dream was total sanitation for all. The concept of Swachh Bharat is to pave access for every person to sanitation facilities including toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems, village cleanliness and safe and adequate drinking water supply. Acting on this theme we are committed to keeping Bathinda beautiful by providing efficient and effective garbage and green waste collection services from all residential and non-residential establishments. Day and Night Time sweeping on the roads manually as well as mechanically by our sanitation team make our city more pleasing.

Acting on this theme we are committed to keeping Bathinda beautiful by providing efficient and effective garbage and green waste collection services from all residential and non-residential establishments. Day and Night Time sweeping on the roads manually as well as mechanically by our sanitation team make our city more pleasing. We have procured twin bins at commercial areas for public facility. We also encourage residents to recycle, reuse and make sustainable choices in their everyday lives.
Segregating waste is in the best interest of our health and environment.
When mixed dry and wet waste breaks down in landfill, it creates nasty greenhouse gases.
Segregating waste helps divert it from landfill ensuring it’s recycled properly. Mixed dry waste such as glass and paper can be turned into new products. This saves energy and resources needed to create products from raw material.
Dry mixed waste consists of waste that doesn’t decay. It is free of organic material such as food. It is also known as non-biodegradable waste.
Dry mixed recycling helps materials find second lives. For example, glass can be recycled hundreds of times into new jars and bottles.
We accept dry garbage such as:Wet waste (such as food scraps or cooking oils) is biodegradable. Recycling diverts food waste from landfill and turns it into compost.
We accept the following wet waste materials:Electronic waste, or e-waste, is a term for electronic products that have become unwanted, non-working or obsolete, and have essentially reached the end of their useful life. Because technology advances at such a high rate, many electronic devices become “trash” after a few short years of use. In fact, whole categories of old electronic items contribute to e-waste such as VCRs being replaced by DVD players, and DVD players are being replaced by blue-ray players. E-waste is created from anything electronic: computers, TVs, monitors, cell phones, PDAs, VCRs, CD players, fax machines, printers, etc.
Obsolete electronic devices are rapidly filling the landfills of the globe. Most electronics that are improperly thrown away contain some form of harmful materials such as beryllium, cadmium, mercury and lead. These materials might be trace elements, but when added up in volume, the threat to the environment is significant. Besides adding harmful elements to the environment, improper disposal of e-waste is a recycling opportunity lost. Almost all electronic waste contains some form of recyclable material, including plastic, glass and metals.
Construction and Demolition debris (C&D) is defined as all non-hazardous solid waste resulting from construction and demolition activities. Approximately 91% of all C&D waste is from renovation and demolition. The biggest opportunities for waste reduction come from remodeling, demolishing and renovating commercial, institutional and multi-family projects and tenant improvement projects. (Source: Life Cycle Building Challenge)
Construction and demolition (C&D) waste is generated from construction, renovation, repair, and demolition of houses, large building structures, roads, bridges, piers, and dams. C&D waste is made up of wood, steel, concrete, gypsum, masonry, plaster, metal, and asphalt. C&D waste is notable because it can contain hazardous materials such as asbestos and lead.

The Swachhata-MoHUA is the official app of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), GOI
The app enables a citizen to post a civic-related issue (eg; a garbage dump) which is then forwarded to the city corporation concerned and thereafter assigned to the sanitary inspector of the particular ward.
Take a picture of the Civic-related issue using your smart phone, and post it in one of the following categories.
The app will capture the location while the picture is being taken. Just type in the landmark of the complaint location. The complaint will then be assigned to the concerned sanitary inspector/engineer.
You can also vote up on any other complaint relevant to you. You will get regular updates on status of the complaint in the form of a push notification with the ‘Resolved’ image uploaded by the assigned sanitary inspector/engineer. You can also reopen the complaint if you are not satisfied with the resolution of the complaint.
